Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chai Jin Jieyu Anshen Tablets is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) candidate developed by the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). The formulation is specifically designed to address the TCM pattern of liver qi stagnation and spleen deficiency, which is a common diagnostic category for depressive symptoms in Chinese medicine. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase II, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in China (CTR20242941) to assess its safety and efficacy in adult patients. As a complex herbal mixture, its therapeutic effects are thought to arise from the synergistic action of multiple botanical constituents on the central nervous system and neuroendocrine pathways.
