Chai Mu jiaqiang Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal decoction being developed by Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of depression. It is a strengthened formulation of the traditional Chai Mu (Bupleurum and Oyster Shell) formula, designed to improve the onset of antidepressant effects and alleviate insomnia. The decoction is being evaluated in clinical trials in China, including a multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel-group controlled trial comparing its efficacy and safety, both alone and in combination with other regimens, against escitalopram-based control regimens.
