Chai-Shi Tui-Re Granules (柴石退热颗粒) is a traditional Chinese medicine compound granule formulation used primarily for the treatment of wind-heat type common cold and related febrile illnesses. The formula contains multiple herbal ingredients including bupleurum (柴胡), scutellaria (黄芩), gypsum (石膏), artemisia annua (青蒿), isatis root (板蓝根), honeysuckle flower (金银花), rhubarb root and rhizome (大黄), dandelion herb (蒲公英), anemarrhena rhizome (知母), and forsythia fruit (连翘). It is indicated for symptoms such as fever, headache, aversion to wind, sore throat, thirst, constipation, and yellow urine associated with wind-heat invasion. The product acts by clearing heat and detoxifying the body while releasing the exterior syndrome according to traditional Chinese medicine theory. Pharmacological studies suggest antipyretic effects in animal models of fever induced by bacterial endotoxins or viral infection; it may also enhance immune function in mice[1][5]. It is not suitable for patients with cold-type symptoms or chronic diarrhea.
