Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chaihu Shugan powder and Taohong Siwu decoction is an investigational Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed and prepared by the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. This specific decoction combines two classical TCM formulas: Chaihu Shugan San, which is traditionally used to soothe the liver and regulate qi, and Taohong Siwu Tang, which is used to nourish and activate blood to resolve stasis. The formulation is further modified with additional herbs including Yunling, Zhuling, and Alisma. It is administered orally and has been evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of arterial erectile dysfunction in young patients, specifically targeting the TCM syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis to improve penile hemodynamics and blood flow.
