Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chaiqin Lidan Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Anhui Institute of Pharmaceutical Research for the treatment of chronic cholecystitis and related biliary disorders. The preparation is composed of several herbal ingredients, most notably *Bupleurum chinense* (Chaihu) and *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), which work synergistically to clear heat, resolve dampness, and soothe the liver and gallbladder. Pharmacologically, the granules exhibit choleretic properties by increasing bile production and flow, as well as anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects that mitigate the symptoms of gallbladder inflammation. It is widely used in China to manage symptoms such as hypochondriac pain, bitterness in the mouth, and jaundice associated with damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder.
