Overview

Chaiqin pediatric antipyretic suppository is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed for the treatment of fever in children, particularly those suffering from acute upper respiratory infections characterized by the "wind-heat" pattern. The drug is developed by the Anhui Institute of Pharmaceutical Research. Its primary active components are derived from *Radix Bupleuri* (Chaihu) and *Radix Scutellariae* (Huangqin), which are traditionally used in TCM for their antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying properties. Administered rectally as a suppository, it offers a non-oral delivery route suitable for pediatric patients who may experience difficulty with oral medications during illness.
