Overview
Chaiqinzhijie decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by The Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of cough variant asthma (CVA), particularly the 'liver-fire invading lung' syndrome type. As a decoction, it is a multi-component mixture of herbal extracts designed to clear liver fire, regulate lung qi, and resolve phlegm to alleviate chronic cough symptoms. In clinical research, it has been evaluated in randomized controlled trials to compare its efficacy and safety against standard inhaled therapies such as budesonide and formoterol fumarate (Symbicort Turbuhaler).
