Overview
Chamomile + lidocaine is a topical combination drug containing extracts from the chamomile flower (Chamaemelum nobile) and the local anesthetic lidocaine. This combination is primarily formulated as a gel for oral or mucosal application. Chamomile provides anti-inflammatory and soothing effects due to its flavonoids and essential oils, while lidocaine acts as a sodium channel blocker to provide local anesthesia by inhibiting nerve signal transmission. The combination is used for symptomatic relief of pain in conditions such as oral mucosal lesions (e.g., gingivitis, aphthous ulcers), tooth pain, dry socket after dental extraction, and has also been studied for premature ejaculation when applied topically to the glans penis[1][2][3][4]. The product offers rapid onset of action with minimal adverse effects reported in clinical studies.
