Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chamomile dry extract is a botanical extract developed and produced by the Bulgarian company Galen-N. Cultivated in the hills of Bulgaria, the extract is produced by percolating dry or fresh chamomile raw material with a water-alcohol solution, followed by concentration, filtration, spray-drying, and homogenization. The resulting powder contains rosmarinic acid (not less than 2.0% on a dry basis) as an active marker compound. It is primarily supplied to the pharmaceutical industry for use in topical formulations (such as creams and ointments) to treat inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis, as well as in oral supplement forms to support joint health and act as an anti-inflammatory agent.
