Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Changyaning is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Zhejiang Conba Pharmaceutical. It is composed of five herbal ingredients: *Euphorbia humifusa* Willd. (Dijincao), *Hedyotis chrysotricha* (Jinmaoercao), *Cinnamomum camphora* root (Zhangshugen), *Elsholtzia ciliata* (Xiangru), and *Liquidambar formosana* Hance leaf (Fengxiangshuye). Approved by the NMPA in China, it is indicated for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery associated with damp heat in the large intestine, including conditions such as acute and chronic gastroenteritis, bacterial diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, and diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). The formulation exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-oxidant properties, with research indicating its mechanism involves the modulation of gut microbiota and the regulation of ferroptosis via the GPX4 pathway.
