This is a combination of three agents: - Charcoal, typically used as activated charcoal, is an adsorbent agent most commonly employed for the emergency treatment of certain types of poisoning or overdose. It works by binding toxins in the gastrointestinal tract to prevent their absorption. - Budesonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent local anti-inflammatory activity in the lungs and fewer systemic side effects compared to oral corticosteroids. It reduces airway inflammation and hyperreactivity. - Formoterol is a selective long-acting beta2-adrenoreceptor agonist (LABA) that acts as a bronchodilator by relaxing smooth muscle in the airways, improving airflow and reducing symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath. Budesonide and formoterol are commonly combined as an inhaled therapy for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), providing both anti-inflammatory effects (from budesonide) and bronchodilation (from formoterol)[1][2][4]. Charcoal does not have an established role in respiratory disease management but may be included here due to its use in poisoning or overdose scenarios.
