Overview
CHELATEXX VIT-C is an oral small molecule formulation of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) developed by Chelatexx for the treatment of Vitamin C deficiency, progressive cognitive decline, and Alzheimer's disease. The drug's mechanism of action involves acidifying the colon to reduce the absorption of gut-derived ammonia into the systemic circulation and the brain. By lowering ammonia levels, CHELATEXX VIT-C aims to prevent hyperammonemia-driven neurological damage, which is hypothesized to contribute to cognitive decline in Alzheimer's patients. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
