This neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimen was developed and evaluated by the Auxilio Mutuo Cancer Center in a Phase II clinical trial (NCT00830544) for patients with invasive breast cancer. The protocol utilizes a response-tailored approach, beginning with four cycles of TEC chemotherapy (docetaxel, epirubicin, and cyclophosphamide) supported by PEG-filgrastim. Subsequent treatment is adjusted based on the patient's molecular profile and initial response: HER2-positive patients receive nab-paclitaxel (NAX) combined with trastuzumab, while triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients who do not achieve a complete response by MRI switch to a non-cross-resistant regimen consisting of vinorelbine (Navelbine), bevacizumab, and capecitabine. This multi-agent strategy aims to optimize pathological complete response (pCR) rates by adapting therapy to the specific biological characteristics and early treatment response of the tumor.
