Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chenopodium ambrosioides pollen extract is an allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the Chenopodium ambrosioides plant, also known as American wormseed or Mexican tea. [1] It is classified as a biological product and is used for diagnostic purposes. Its primary application is in allergy testing, administered via percutaneous (prick) or intradermal skin tests, to identify individuals with Type I hypersensitivity (allergy) to this specific pollen. A positive test, characterized by a wheal-and-flare reaction, indicates the presence of allergen-specific IgE antibodies. [7]
