Overview

CHF-6333 is an investigational small molecule drug developed as a 24-hour durable dry powder inhaler (DPI) formulation for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of human neutrophil elastase (also known as leucocyte elastase), which plays a key role in inflammation and tissue damage in these conditions. The drug is classified as a new chemical entity and has received orphan drug designation for cystic fibrosis. It is currently in Phase II clinical development for bronchiectasis[1][4][6].
