Research has focused on using the CIA-1 strain in **immune complex (IC) vaccines**, where the virus is bound to specific neutralizing antibodies. This approach allows for the vaccination of young chicks or *in ovo* administration, effectively bypassing interference from maternal antibodies and providing protection against field strains of the virus.
