Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chiggerex is an over-the-counter topical medicated ointment developed by CrossingWell Consumer Health for the symptomatic relief of pain and itching associated with insect bites, including chigger, mosquito, and tick bites. Its primary active ingredient is benzocaine (10%), a local anesthetic that works by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, thereby inhibiting the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. The formulation also incorporates soothing botanical ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, and peppermint oil. It has been commercially available for over 40 years and is indicated for adults and children aged 2 years and older.
