Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CHIKV vaccine is an investigational vaccine candidate currently in preclinical development by SVF Vaccines for the prevention of Chikungunya virus infection. The vaccine is built on a proprietary dual platform that utilizes both DNA and mRNA technologies. This approach is designed to leverage the complementary strengths of both nucleic acid modalities to induce a robust and durable immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of cellular immunity (T-cell response). By optimizing antigen expression through this hybrid delivery system, the vaccine aims to provide effective protection against the Chikungunya virus, a mosquito-borne alphavirus. As of early 2024, the program remains in the preclinical stage of development.
