Overview

The chimeric exosomal tumor vaccine is an investigational personalized biologic therapy developed by Shanghai Pudong Hospital for the treatment of recurrent or metastatic bladder cancer. The vaccine is composed of chimeric exosomes derived from a patient's own antigen-presenting cells (APCs), such as dendritic cells or macrophages, which have been hybridized with the patient's tumor cells. This "double-target and double-effect" approach is designed to activate a specific immune response by presenting tumor-associated antigens to T-cells while simultaneously modulating the tumor microenvironment to enhance anti-tumor activity. The production process involves isolating tumor cells and peripheral blood monocytes, constructing APC-tumor chimeric cells, and extracting the resulting exosomes via hypervelocity centrifugation.
