Chimigen Hepatitis B vaccine

Chimigen Hepatitis B vaccine (also known as C-HBV or SN2001) is a recombinant chimeric fusion protein biologic designed as an immunotherapeutic vaccine for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The vaccine is composed of HBV S1 and S2 surface antigen fragments and the HBV Core antigen fused to a murine monoclonal antibody heavy chain fragment (Fc), produced in Sf9 insect cells. It utilizes the proprietary SynNeogen platform to target dendritic cells (DCs) via specific receptors, namely CD32 (FcγRII) and CD206 (Mannose receptor). This targeting facilitates antigen internalization and presentation through both MHC class I and II pathways, aiming to restore functional adaptive immune responses (both T-cell and B-cell) in chronic HBV carriers. Originally developed by ViRexx Medical and later Paladin Labs, the vaccine is currently being developed by Chimigen Biomedical (Chengdu) and has received FDA IND approval for clinical evaluation.
