Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chimigen Hepatitis C Vaccine is a therapeutic and preventive vaccine candidate developed using the proprietary Chimigen platform. The vaccine consists of recombinant fusion proteins that combine specific Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) antigens—such as NS3, Core, E1, and E2—with a chimeric delivery moiety designed to target and activate dendritic cells. This platform technology is engineered to enhance the uptake and processing of viral antigens by antigen-presenting cells, thereby stimulating a robust and multi-functional cellular immune response. Specifically, it aims to induce high levels of CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, which are critical for the clearance of chronic HCV infection and the establishment of protective immunity. Originally developed by Chimigen Biosciences, the program and platform were subsequently acquired by PDS Biotechnology.
