Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This Chinese medicine herbal formula is a modified version of the classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula **Ze Xie Tang**, which has been used for centuries to treat vertigo associated with fluid or dampness. The specific formulation being investigated contains four herbal ingredients: **Ze Xie** (Alismatis Rhizoma), **Bai Zhu** (Atractylodes macrocephalia Rhizoma), **Chen Pi** (Citri reticulatae Pericarpium), and **He Ye** (Nelumbinis folium). It is being developed by researchers at the **National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM)** at **Southern Cross University**, with funding and support from **CMOL Pharmaceuticals Australia**. The formula is intended to support kidney function in regulating water metabolism and draining dampness. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase I safety trial to determine its efficacy in preventing and reducing dizziness and vertigo in adults.
