Chitogel

Chitogel is a biodegradable, hydrogel-based nasal dressing designed for use after endoscopic sinus surgery. It is composed of chitosan, dextran, and glycerol—natural ingredients that together provide hemostatic (bleeding control), anti-adhesion, antibacterial, and wound-healing properties. The gel acts as a space-occupying packing to separate tissues compromised by surgical trauma, prevent adhesions between mucosal surfaces in the nasal cavity, minimize ostial stenosis (narrowing of sinus openings), and control minimal bleeding through tamponade effect and platelet aggregation.
