CHKV-24

CHKV-24 is a **human monoclonal antibody** directed against **chikungunya virus** that was isolated from B cells of a person who recovered from CHIKV infection. It is intended for the prevention and treatment of chikungunya infection by **neutralizing CHIKV particles** and blocking viral infection. CHKV-24 has also been used as the encoded antibody payload in Moderna's **mRNA-1944**, a lipid nanoparticle formulated mRNA therapeutic that delivers the heavy and light chain sequences of a half-life extended CHKV-24 variant containing **LS Fc mutations**. In this context, CHKV-24 is the specific antiviral antibody substance rather than the mRNA formulation itself.
