Dyna-Hex 2% Antiseptic Skin Cleanser is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical antiseptic solution developed by Xttrium Laboratories. Formulated with 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG), a cationic bisbiguanide, it is indicated for surgical hand scrubbing, healthcare personnel handwashing, patient preoperative skin preparation, and skin wound and general skin cleansing. Chlorhexidine gluconate exerts its rapid and persistent antimicrobial activity by electrostatically binding to the negatively charged bacterial cell wall and cell membrane, leading to membrane disruption, leakage of intracellular components, and subsequent cell lysis. Dyna-Hex 2% provides broad-spectrum efficacy against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi and yeasts, with persistent antimicrobial action lasting up to six hours.
