Overview

**Chlorisondamine** is a **small molecule** nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (**nAChR**) antagonist that functions primarily as a **ganglionic blocker**, producing both neuronal and ganglionic blockade with quasi-irreversible effects following a single administration. It exhibits an IC50 of 1.8 µM at nAChRs in rat striatal synaptosomes and was historically used as an **antihypertensive agent** by lowering peripheral resistance, though it has been largely supplanted by more specific drugs in clinical practice and is now mainly employed in animal research.[1][2][3][5][12]
