Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Panthor NF Syrup is an oral combination drug containing the first-generation antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate and the centrally acting cough suppressant dextromethorphan hydrobromide. It is developed and marketed by Juggat Pharma for the temporary relief of dry cough, allergic cough, and associated symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and throat irritation. Chlorpheniramine maleate acts as a competitive antagonist at the histamine H1 receptor, reducing allergy-mediated symptoms, while dextromethorphan hydrobromide acts as a sigma-1 receptor agonist and NMDA receptor antagonist to suppress the cough reflex in the brainstem.
