Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ultrakof is an oral combination syrup containing the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate and the cough suppressant dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Developed by Zinnia Life Sciences, it is indicated for the temporary relief of dry, irritating coughs and associated allergic symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes caused by the common cold, upper respiratory allergies, or hay fever. Chlorpheniramine acts as a competitive antagonist of histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergic responses, while dextromethorphan acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla oblongata to suppress the cough reflex.
