Overview
A combination of two phenothiazine drugs that produces sedative, antipsychotic, and neuroprotective effects. The combination induces a state of "artificial hibernation" characterized by reduced body temperature and metabolic rate, which confers neuroprotection in cerebral ischemia. It has been used to manage acute psychosis, aggressive behavior, and as a potential neuroprotective treatment in stroke.
