Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CROISE-MR is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing the muscle relaxant chlorzoxazone, the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) diclofenac (as diclofenac potassium), and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (acetaminophen). Developed by Croise Pharma, it is indicated for the treatment of acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions, muscle spasms, and associated pain, inflammation, and tension. Chlorzoxazone acts centrally on the spinal cord and subcortical areas of the brain to inhibit multisynaptic reflex arcs, thereby reducing muscle spasm. Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, alleviating pain and inflammation. Paracetamol acts primarily in the central nervous system to provide additional analgesic and antipyretic effects.
