Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) and prednisone. Cholecalciferol is a form of vitamin D that helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus. Prednisone is a corticosteroid that decreases inflammation and suppresses the immune system. When used together, prednisone may reduce the effects of cholecalciferol. However, cholecalciferol supplementation is often recommended for patients on long-term prednisone therapy to prevent vitamin D deficiency and reduce the risk of osteoporosis associated with corticosteroid use.
