This therapeutic regimen combines cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) with standard triple therapy, which consists of amoxicillin, clarithromycin, and a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection in children. Developed by researchers at Minia University, the addition of cholecalciferol is intended to serve as an adjuvant therapy to improve eradication rates. Cholecalciferol acts as a Vitamin D receptor (VDR) agonist, which has been shown to induce the expression of antimicrobial peptides such as cathelicidin (LL-37) in the gastric mucosa. These peptides possess direct bactericidal activity against *H. pylori* and may help overcome antibiotic resistance. The triple therapy components provide standard antimicrobial action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis (amoxicillin) and protein synthesis (clarithromycin), while the PPI reduces gastric acidity to enhance antibiotic stability and efficacy.
