Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Choline magnesium trisalicylate** is an oral, non-acetylated salicylate NSAID supplied as a fixed combination of choline salicylate and magnesium salicylate. It produces analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects through reversible, nonselective suppression of cyclooxygenase-mediated prostaglandin synthesis. It has been marketed for symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, acute painful shoulder, pain, and fever under brands including Trilisate and Tricosal. It was also investigated with induction chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukemia, where short-term administration reduced leukemic-cell nuclear NF-kappaB activity in a small clinical study.
