choline salicylate

Choline salicylate is the choline salt of salicylic acid and belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It acts as an analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory agent. Choline salicylate works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. It is used to treat mild to moderate pain, reduce fever and inflammation or swelling in conditions such as arthritis (including rheumatoid arthritis), gout, rheumatic fever, muscle injuries in both adults and children. The drug is available in oral forms for systemic use and topical gels for localized relief (e.g., mouth lesions or dental procedures). At higher doses it can act as an anticoagulant antagonistic to vitamin K[1][4][5][6][8].
