Chondrogen

**Chondrogen** is an ambiguous proprietary product name rather than a single uniquely defined active substance. Mesoblast used the name for an investigational intra-articular preparation of adult allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in a hyaluronic-acid solution for repair of meniscal tissue after meniscectomy. Separately, Meluha Life Sciences and Meluha Therapeutics have used Chondrogen for a proprietary culture-expanded Wharton’s Jelly-derived allogeneic mesenchymal stem-cell product evaluated by intra-articular injection for knee osteoarthritis. Both versions are regenerative cell-therapy candidates intended to support cartilage repair and improve joint symptoms, but their cellular source and developer differ; an unqualified Chondrogen record should not be treated as one exact biological product.
