chPcMab-6 is a human-mouse chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting a cancer-specific epitope of podocalyxin (PODXL). Developed using the Cancer-Specific Monoclonal Antibody (CasMab) technology at Tohoku University, it is designed to selectively bind to podocalyxin expressed on tumor cells while sparing normal tissues, such as vascular endothelial cells, where the protein is also present. The antibody demonstrates antitumor activity through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and has shown efficacy in preclinical xenograft models of glioblastoma, colorectal cancer, and other solid tumors. Safety studies in cynomolgus monkeys have indicated a favorable toxicity profile, supporting its potential for clinical development in various podocalyxin-expressing malignancies.
