Chromium edetate is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical used to determine glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in the assessment of renal function. It consists of radioactive Chromium-51 chelated with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). When administered intravenously, it allows for the measurement of kidney filtration capacity by tracking its clearance from the bloodstream.
