Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ChronVac-B** is a therapeutic DNA vaccine developed by ChronTech Pharma for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). It utilizes a plasmid DNA encoding the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) delivered via electroporation to induce robust T-cell and antibody responses aimed at achieving functional cure by reducing HBsAg levels and HBV DNA. The vaccine was evaluated in phase II clinical trials, often in combination with other antivirals like pegylated interferon, showing promising immunogenicity but development has been discontinued.
