Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chrysanthemum granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation consisting of concentrated extracts from the flowers of *Chrysanthemum morifolium*. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials by The First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of age-related dry eye disease. The drug is administered orally as an adjunct to standard sodium hyaluronate eye drops. Its therapeutic effect is attributed to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which are hypothesized to improve the ocular surface microenvironment and modulate metabolic pathways associated with lacrimal gland dysfunction and tear film instability.
