Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chuanbei Pipa syrup (川贝枇杷糖浆) is an approved traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed and manufactured by Zhejiang Jinliyuan Pharmaceutical. Administered orally as a syrup, it is indicated for the relief of coughs, sore throats, and phlegm associated with lung heat, dryness, acute tracheobronchitis, wind-heat cough, or yin deficiency of the lung. The formulation contains active herbal ingredients including the bulb of *Fritillaria cirrhosa* (Chuanbei Mu) and loquat leaf (*Eriobotrya japonica*, Pipa), supported by licorice root and honey. As a traditional herbal mixture, it does not target a single molecular biological entity but works through the synergistic actions of its herbal constituents on the respiratory system.
