Overview
Chuanhong Huoxue Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Jiangxi Huiren Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris. The drug is designed to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, and dredge meridians to alleviate pain, which are core therapeutic principles in TCM for managing coronary heart disease. Pharmacologically, it acts by improving myocardial ischemia through the enhancement of coronary blood flow and the reduction of blood viscosity. Its primary herbal components, *Chuanxiong* (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) and *Honghua* (Flos Carthami), contain active compounds such as ligustrazine and hydroxysafflor yellow A, which exhibit vasodilatory and anti-platelet aggregation properties. It was approved by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) as a modern TCM formulation.
