Chuanhuning

Chuanhuning is a semi-synthetic derivative of andrographolide, specifically potassium dehydroandrograpolide succinate, which is extracted from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Andrographis paniculata*. It is widely used in China as an injectable anti-inflammatory and antiviral medication. The drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-8 (IL-8), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), which are often elevated in respiratory infections. Chuanhuning is primarily indicated for the treatment of viral upper respiratory tract infections, viral pneumonia, and acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). It is known to possess antipyretic properties and can enhance the phagocytic activity of white blood cells.
