Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chuankezhi Injection is a proprietary Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) injection developed and manufactured by Guangzhou Imvin Pharmaceutical. It is derived from the aqueous extracts of two medicinal herbs: *Epimedium brevicornu* Maxim. and *Morinda officinalis* How. The product is approved in China for the treatment of respiratory diseases, specifically bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and chronic bronchitis. Its mechanism of action involves immunomodulation, primarily through the regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the restoration of Th1/Th2 cytokine balance (e.g., increasing IFN-γ and decreasing IL-4 levels). By enhancing endogenous corticosteroid production and suppressing allergic inflammation, it serves as both a maintenance therapy and an adjuvant to conventional treatments like inhaled corticosteroids.
