Chushi Zhiyang Heji, also known as Chushi Zhiyang Mixture, is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation used for its anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic properties. The name translates to "remove dampness and stop itching mixture." It is indicated for the treatment of skin conditions like atopic dermatitis and eczema, particularly those classified in TCM as being due to damp-heat or dampness obstruction. A topical ointment form of this preparation, with the brand name Xuanmei, is composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including Cnidium Monnieri (She Chuang Zi), Coptis Chinensis (Huang Lian), Phellodendron Chinense (Huang Bai), Dictamnus Dasycarpus (Bai Xian Pi), Sophora Flavescens (Ku Shen), Polygonum Cuspidatum (Hu Zhang), Viola Yedoensis (Zi Hua Di Ding), Kochia Scoparia (Di Fu Zi), Polygonum Aviculare (Bian Xu), Artemisia Scoparia (Yin Chen), Atractylodes Lancea (Cang Zhu), Zanthoxylum Bungeanum (Hua Jiao), and Borneol (Bing Pian). The formulation aims to clear heat, eliminate dampness, expel wind, and alleviate itching. Clinical studies have investigated its use for atopic dermatitis. It is developed and manufactured by several pharmaceutical companies in China, such as Sichuan Defeng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
