Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chushizhiyang is a topical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, commonly available as an ointment or lotion, indicated for the treatment of pruritic and inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and eczema. The formulation typically contains a blend of herbal extracts, including *Sophora flavescens*, *Cnidium monnieri*, and *Phellodendron amurense*, which are traditionally used to clear heat and eliminate dampness. Research indicates that Chushizhiyang exerts its antipruritic and anti-inflammatory effects by activating Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) channels on sensory neurons, thereby modulating neuroactive pathways and reducing neuronal activity associated with itch. It is widely used in clinical practice in China as an effective non-steroidal alternative for managing chronic skin inflammation.
