Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chymovin-AP is an oral fixed-dose combination medication developed and marketed by Vin Medicament Pvt Ltd, primarily used for the management of pain, inflammation, and edema. The formulation typically combines three active components: aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID); paracetamol (acetaminophen), an analgesic and antipyretic; and a mixture of the proteolytic enzymes trypsin and chymotrypsin. Aceclofenac and paracetamol work synergistically to reduce pain and fever by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and decreasing prostaglandin synthesis. The trypsin-chymotrypsin component acts as an anti-inflammatory agent by promoting the breakdown of fibrin clots and necrotic tissue at the site of injury, which helps resolve inflammatory edema and improves blood flow to the affected area. Chymovin-AP is commonly indicated for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, post-operative pain, and traumatic injuries.
