Overview

CI-135 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Beijing Boren Hospital for the treatment of relapsed or refractory hematological malignancies, specifically targeting Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3). FLT3 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that is highly expressed on the surface of cells in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and some cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own peripheral blood mononuclear cell-derived T-cells to express a CAR construct that recognizes FLT3, enabling the T-cells to identify and eliminate leukemic cells upon infusion. CI-135 is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess its safety and preliminary efficacy in patients with relapsed or refractory AML.
