Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cicaben is a multi-ingredient topical dermoprotective powder developed by the Italian company Orsana Italia. It is formulated to provide a combination of soothing, protective, and healing (cicatrizing) effects on compromised skin tissues. The product contains mineral oxides such as zinc oxide and magnesium oxide, which form a moisture-absorbing physical barrier that protects the skin from external irritants. It also incorporates Arnica montana extract for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, and niacinamide to support skin barrier function and reduce inflammation. Additionally, Cicaben contains allantoin and a blend of amino acids (arginine, glycine, and proline) that promote cellular repair and re-epithelialization. It is primarily indicated for the hygiene and healing of the neonatal umbilical cord stump, the management of decubitus ulcers (bedsores), the treatment of exudative dermatitis, and the care of small superficial abrasions.
