Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cicalium Gel (also known as Elgydium Clinic Cicalium) is a topical oral care medical device developed by Pierre Fabre (under the Elgydium brand) for the management of mouth ulcers (aphthous stomatitis) and other oral lesions. The product is formulated with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), which acts as a film-forming agent to create a protective mechanical barrier over the lesion. This barrier shields the affected area from external irritation, provides rapid pain relief, and facilitates the natural healing process. Additionally, the gel contains zinc gluconate and taurine, which provide antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It is indicated for treating canker sores, ulcerative lesions, and irritations caused by dental appliances, dentures, or oral surgery, and is suitable for use in adults and children aged 4 and older.
