Overview

Ciclesonide + levocetirizine is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used primarily for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Ciclesonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid administered as a nasal spray, acting as an anti-inflammatory agent by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor and reducing inflammation in the nasal passages[2][3][6]. Levocetirizine is an oral antihistamine that works by blocking histamine H1 receptors, thereby alleviating symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes associated with allergies[1][4]. Clinical studies have shown that while both drugs are effective individually for allergic rhinitis (including seasonal and perennial forms), their combination does not provide significant additional benefit over ciclesonide monotherapy but remains well tolerated[5].
